Forced current cathodic protection technology is to connect a DC power supply in series in the loop, and with the help of auxiliary anodes, direct current is passed to the protected metal, thereby turning the protected metal into a cathode and implementing protection.
Advantages:
1: The driving voltage is high, and the output of cathodic protection current can be flexibly controlled within a wide range, which is suitable for occasions with a large protection range.
2: When insoluble or slightly soluble auxiliary anodes are selected, long-term cathodic protection can be carried out.
3: It is also applicable under severe corrosion conditions or in high resistivity environments.
4: The protection range of each auxiliary anode bed is large. When the quality of the pipeline anti-corrosion layer is good, the protection range of a cathodic protection station can reach tens of kilometers.
5: Complete cathodic protection can also be achieved for pipelines with exposed or poor anti-corrosion layer quality.
Why is forced current cathodic protection technology widely used?
